As Brock Solutions continues to grow and respond to the on-going requirements of major clients, we need to add talent to our base of outstanding professionals. We are currently seeking a Customer IT Operations Manager to join our team of experienced professionals located in Kitchener, ON.

Working with other highly motivated Engineers, you will take on a project manager role, implementing real time control system and automation solutions in a critical operational capacity.

Compensation Range: $100k-$150k

Responsibilities may include:

Operational Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Lead the IT Operations department responsible for patching, monitoring/alert response, backup verification, cybersecurity and lifecycle upgrades across deployed systems.
  • Establish and maintain service reliability expectations (SLOs/SLAs), operational cadence, and performance reporting.
  • Drive consistent execution across multiple business units and project teams while maintaining clear priority and escalation pathways.

MSP-Style Operations & Standardization

  • Implement a scalable, repeatable operating model: standard runbooks, checklists, escalation paths, and "definition of done" for operational tasks.
  • Partner with Build/Project Delivery to enforce an Operational Handoff Gate
  • Build a continual improvement loop where recurring incidents become root-cause work and standards improvements.
  • Enforce Change Management processes for Operations activities (maintenance windows, risk review, rollback plans, validation evidence), aligning to broader IT governance.

Cybersecurity Execution & Operational Risk Reduction

  • Ensure operational execution of key cybersecurity controls: patch/vulnerability compliance, monitoring hygiene, backup verification and restore testing, access controls enforcement, and configuration compliance.
  • Partner with the technical discipline leads to implement secure baselines and ensure they can be operationalized consistently.

People Leadership & Technical Maturity

  • Provide direct people leadership: hiring, coaching, performance management, career pathways, and training plans.
  • Develop senior technical capability within the Operations team by building SMEs, mentoring talent, and driving cross-training with Build and Cloud/Hosting teams.
  • Establish operational quality standards (ticket quality, documentation discipline, runbook adherence).

Dedicated On-Site Support Model

  • Manage dedicated on-site IT personnel for key customers where required, ensuring they operate within Operation’s standards and governance.
  • Define guardrails for "micro-project" support performed onsite to prevent non-standard implementations and security drift.

 

Qualifications Required:
  • 10+ years in IT operations, infrastructure operations, or managed services with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success building or operating MSP-style functions: monitoring, patching, incident management, customer-facing operations, and standardized service delivery for distributed customer deployments
  • Strong working knowledge of common enterprise environments and operational controls (Windows/Linux fundamentals, virtualization concepts, networking fundamentals, monitoring/alerting, backup/restore).
  • Security-minded operations background (patch/vuln management cadence, access controls, logging/alerting, compliance reporting).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with a demonstrable ability to engage C-level stakeholders on technical and strategic topics.
  • Experience driving process maturity (ITIL-aligned practices preferred but not required).
