As Brock Solutions continues to grow and respond to the ongoing requirements of major clients, we need to add talent to our base of outstanding professionals. We are currently seeking a Proposal Developer to join our Inside Sales Proposal Development team of experienced professionals.

As part of our sales team, you will draw upon the industry and technical knowledge of our organization to prepare estimates and proposals for our SmartSuite passenger and baggage solutions for airports and airlines. SmartSuite includes a number of specific software products, but the more frequently quoted products are Baggage Reconciliation Systems (BRSs), passenger and baggage tracking solutions, and bag drop software. The ideal candidate will have a proposal writing or technical writing background and excellent attention to detail. Previous airport or airline experience is not required but it is an asset. To be successful in this role, you will need to rapidly familiarize yourself with the capabilities, design, and ‘under the hood’ IT workings of our systems, as well as the business and operational needs of our airline and airport customers.

Your daily responsibilities will include preparing proposals and bid submissions:

• Work with our technical experts to define solutions and create simple and concise proposal content
• Prepare price estimates for the design, development, and deployment of solutions
• Write engaging, informative proposals that describe the products that will be provided including executive summaries, technical requirements, project delivery plans, high-level project schedules, etc.
• Create architecture/network diagrams suitable for proposals and presentations
• Help prepare bid presentations to support the technical proposal
• Obtain quotes from various suppliers and subcontractors
• Work with clients to manage proposal modifications and/or supplementary write-ups
• Continually improve the quotation and proposal preparation process (Excel tools, Word templates, etc.)
• Participate in update and strategic planning meetings for the SmartSuite sales tea

• Exceptional writing skills including an aptitude for understanding and explaining technical information
• University Degree or College Diploma in English, Communications, Business or related field
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• General understanding of software project infrastructure requirements
• The ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks to meet firm deadlines while still knowing when to engage the sales team and other technical experts
• Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  
• Previous experience with airport or airline IT solutions is preferred but not required
• This position requires occasional travel
